SOBO LAW
Diana Sobo, Esq.
(she/her)
Founder, Attorney at Law, Trademark Nerd
Oh yes, I did.
I launched SOBO LAW in 2009, after formerly leading Trademark Departments for several internationally-recognized boutique Intellectual Property law firms in Washington, DC. And, prior to that, buzzing in advertising and public relations hives as a content creator and account executive.
By going solo, I'm able to offer my collective years (decades!) of laser-focused Trademark acumen to a broader range of clients in a direct and affordable manner. There is no quagmire of bureaucracy, no client too small, and
no matter too insignificant.
Just solid Trademark counsel and results-driven assistance at reasonable rates, something not possible for me at BigLaw.
As an entrepreneur myself, I get you.
I know what it's like to take risks in order to create something of value, and to bring a passion purpose to life. Like you, I walk the nexus of unbridled innovation and playing by the legal rules, all with a vision of a greater good.
I have experienced some of your same concerns, and celebrated some similar milestones. I speak the languages of business and of trailblazing.
Here's a refreshing take: Even after more than 24 years in practice, I personally provide all legal and administrative services.
No bots or non-attorney clerks handling your essential legal work here.
When you retain SOBO LAW, you get a Trademark lawyer.
Every step of the way. It's that simple.
SOBO LAW reflects my commitment to integrity, transparency, professionalism, and results. I believe that client communication is key - I listen to you, rather than talk at you. I persistently remind you of approaching crucial due dates as needed, discuss anticipated fees with you prior to starting on billable services, and provide written estimates to help you budget for both our immediate and long-term work together. And maybe, just perhaps, I will help spark some Trademark Nerdery in you too. Because, let's face it, I'm that jazzed about what I do... and what I can do for your unique brand.
When I'm not lawyering, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog outdoors hiking or city walking, and indoors binge-watching home reno or quiz tv shows. With DC as my backdrop and spectacular National Parks close by, on any given weekend I'm inclined to take in a museum, tour a national monument, catch a live music or theater show, or navigate my way along a new scenic trail. I delight in concocting vegetarian recipes that my husband assures me are fairly edible, designing jewelry when the mood strikes, and settling in for creative writing when time allows. I'm stedfast in advocating for animal welfare and basic human rights, and value my community volunteer opportunities. I routinely participate in pub trivia, and my newest obsession is playing Mah Jongg, though not well at the moment.
